welcome

Hi there! My name is Emma Louise Constable, I'm an artist, student, and the creator of this website! This whole thing started from a final project in my Intro to Gender class at Merced College; this website is even the final project for this class! However, the more I added to this website and the more I learned, the more I decided I wanted to keep this up. Also, hi to anyone from my class reviewing this for the discussion! I hope you, especially, and anyone else enjoys this page!

fun fact:

You may wonder why this site is called "DEUX," well, in French, "deux" is "two."

about me

A little about me and why I chose to talk about bisexuality. I've been out as bisexual+ for around three years. I grew up believing in a sect of Christianity that opposed anything to do with homosexuality. I pushed aside any feelings I had for women. I stopped myself when I thought a girl was beautiful, letting all my feelings disappear. In 2019, I renounced my faith and declared myself an atheist. In 2020, I started to revisit those feelings I previously pushed aside and let myself think freely. After some time talking with supportive friends and doing lots of research, I found that the label "bisexual" fit me best: it explained the attractions I felt, and it made me comfortable. I remember taking a sigh of relief, finally feeling like myself. Not held to this high standard because of my faith, and I no longer ignored a part of me that was always there. With this project, I wanted to learn more about people like me and learn about the experiences and facts about bi-ness. I have learned a lot and feel much more connected to my identity. Now, I am proud to be bi+. Proud to be me.

If you want to learn more about my story, I have a blog post that goes more in-depth!
